Barry Greenstein Wins the WPT Invitational 2006

Barry Greenstein has the button, he raises to $90,000, Rodman reraises all in for $746,000, and Greenstein calls with A K . Rodman shows A 10, and he's dominated here. Rodman will need to improve to stay alive.

The flop comes K 10 7, and both players pair their kicker. This is bad news for Rodman, because he is down to two outs, unless he catches a runner-runner straight to chop.

The turn card is the 4, and Rodman needs a ten on the river to survive.

The river card is the 2, and Blair Rodman is eliminated in second place, earning $50,000.

Barry Greenstein wins the 2006 WPT Invitational, winning $100,000 and a $25,500 seat in the WPT World Championship.

Scott Fischman Double Bubbles in 7th Place

Scott Fischman Double Bubbles in 7th Place at the WPT Invitational.

Blair Rodman raises to $50,000, Scott Fischman moves all in for $209,000 from the small blind, and Rodman calls with pocket fives (5d-5h). Fischman shows Ah-2h, and he'll need to improve to stay alive.

The board comes Jc-8c-4d-Jd-4c, and both players make two pair. Unfortunately for Fischman, Rodman's fives are slightly higher than the fours on the board, and Fischman is eliminated in seventh place. That makes Fischman the "Double Bubble Boy," as he misses out on the money and a televised final table.

The Final Table will consist of Barry Greenstein, Blair Rodman, Allen Kessler, Tom Lock, Jesse Jones, and day one chip leader Ugur Marangoz. Official chip counts are coming soon, along with seating positions for tomorrow's final table.

Clonie Gowen Out in 8th

jason
25th February 2006

Clonie Gowen has been eliminated at the WPT Invitational.

Clonie Gowen was just eliminated in 8th place when her pocket tens failed to improve against Barry Greenstein's pocket jacks.

We are now down to the final seven players, but only six will reach the final table and the money. It's time for the Double Bubble!
